Lace Day
Each year PBLC holds a Lace Day at the beginning of June. It is an opportunity to make lace, enter the lace competition, support the raffle in aid of our charity, buy all those essential supplies and listen to the guest speaker. The venue is St George’s Church Hall, BH15 3EU.
At the Lace Day it is usual for PBLC to present a cheque to the year's charity. The lace competition theme each year is chosen to complement the guest speaker's talk. Visitors vote for the entries under two distinct categories:

Lace Day 2025 Saturday 7 June
Looking back 'Lace Day 2025' was an enjoyable occasion with a good selection of suppliers and an extremely interesting talk by Judith Cordell entitled 'Rosaline Perle Lace'. Judith came with a wonderful selection of her work as well as an impressive selection of antique rosaline lace.
On the following day Judith led a workshop on rosaline lace and those attending were able to work on a small rosaline flower.
The Lace Competition this year was for a 'piece of lace to fit within a 4 inch square'. Eve Morton won the prize for 'Best Technical Entry', and Jean Organ won the prize for the 'Entry you would most like to take home'.
A cheque for £800 was presented to Katie Godman, curator of the Blandford Fashion Museum, our charity for 2024-25. This was a brilliant amount and was boosted by lace equipment donated and sold on the Sales Table.
