Demonstration in 2025
The Hardy Visitor Centre
The summer demonstrating season has begun, with visits to the Hardy Visitor Centre at Higher Brockhampton set in woodland close to the cottage where Dorset writer, Thomas Hardy, was born and lived for many years.
PBLC are demonstrated there on the first Wednesday of each month until October 2025, 9.45am – 3pm.
Dates were 7 May, 4 June, 2 July, 6 August, 3 September and 1 October.

Tesco Supermarket, Fleetsbridge
Members of PBLC are demonstrating in the Community Space at Tesco Fleetsbridge on two occasions this summer, Thursday 17 July and Thursday 14 August.
Wool Charter Fair
On 17 May, four members of PBLC went to Wool to demonstrate at the Wool Charter Fair held in the Millennium Square. This dates back to the 13th century, allowing the monks and abbots of Bindon Abbey to hold a fair or market near to Wool Manor.
A display of lace collars, including a few Victorian ones from Bedfordshire and Honiton, was mounted.

Milton Abbas Street Fair
Members of PBLC demonstrated at the Milton Abbas Street Fair on Saturday 26 July.
All four members wore rural 18th century country costumes.
They had a wonderful day. Shirley Pearce took part in the Morris Dancing. Many people were interested in lacemaking and 'had a go'.
